Building an Empire
Here is Spenser at his first official 'metal' concert. The band was Queensryche and the venue was the Dodge Theater. For you non-metal heads, some Queensryche hits you may have heard of are 'Silent Lucidity' and 'Jet-City Woman'. Both are great songs, but they are only a fraction of the phenomenal songs that this band has to offer.
Spenser's favorite Queensryche song is called 'Empire'. What's mine? Well, when Rob and I first met at New Mexico State he introduced me to the band, with a song called 'Anybody Listening'. He used to sing it to me and it goes something like this, "You and I, long to live like wind upon the water, if we close our eyes, we'd maybe realize there's more to life than what we have known......." It's kind of romantic. So even a metal song can be a love song.
What's Rob favorite Queensryche song? It's a toss-up between 'Resistance' and 'Jet-City Woman'.
Here are some pictures of us enjoying the concert. It's pretty cool to pass on your love of music to your child. Don't get me wrong, it's not forced. He just has good taste.
