Back to Band Camp!

Sienna's rookie year of Puma Regiment Band Camp was an uphill climb, one that she and her parents did not want to experience again.  So Sienna spent some time this summer better preparing herself for the rigors of camp in the scorching temps.  She did some running, but was still afraid to push herself.  The good news is that it did help, even though they upped the running expectations.  The regiment did ran every day, working up to a mile, and did an extensive amount of calisthenics, so Sienna is feeling the pain!  But the great news is that she went to camp every day, gave her all, and never missed a minute!

Today was showcase day, where they show a montage of the week, and demonstrate movement, music, and the parts of the show they learned so far.

Here are some photos of the toughest part of camp - outside work-outs.  They are a little blurry, but I'm taking a picture of a picture in a dim auditorium so I'll take what I can get.  (Sienna is in the pink top and dark shorts, long pony to the side).

Here she is front and center during afternoon activity,

and getting shaving-creamed and cheetoed!

On the track for ab work!  Ugh!

Practice inside with sections.

Here's a piece of the new music for the show.  The theme is "Animal Fantastique!"

Looking forward to another great year of music and marching!
