Marching Band Camp X2!

Today marked the official end of Perry's Marching Band Camp for 2014.  It was special because it was Sienna's third band camp, and Spenser's first.  Rob and I probably share more trepidation as parents than they do as participants, but we are ecstatic to report that they did superbly!  Sienna had no issues whatsoever and Spenser just killed it as a rookie.  The heat wasn't a factor for him, nor his fitness.  Of course we're glad he did some preparing by going to the gym the last few months.  As for his skills as a snare, he killed that too.

Each morning started with physical fitness out in the heat.  Here is Sienna on the field, ready for squats.

Here is the battery, ready for their showcase.  Although not pictured, to the left of the snares are 5 basses, and to the right of the snares are 4 quads.

They shared two of their warm-up exercises.

I think they are so cool!

When they finished, they set their drums on stands to wait for the full ensemble performance.

Then it was Sienna's turn with the woodwinds section.

Then it was the most exciting part of the showcase, where the regiment performed their opener for the show.  This year's theme is 'The Revolution."  It is futuristic and supposes 'a rise of the machines.'

Can't wait to see the progression as the school year begins and the season commences.

Go Sienna! Go Spenser! Go PERRY!
