Senior Night for graduating regiment members was held on Friday before the last home game of the season. Parents were invited to listen to each member give a speech, and then they were asked to button a rope to their uniform in commemoration of the event.
With 27 members given around 2 minutes to speak, it actually took quite a while to get through. It was neat hearing each student's perspective on their experience and what it has taught them. The first half of the speeches were interesting and entertaining. It seems toward the end of the speeches they became more emotional. As for our Sienna, when it comes to marching band, she can't help but where her heart on her sleeve. Her speech was almost three minutes and it vacillates between speaking and crying, but her message is clear. We have a video of it but it's too long to upload to the blog, and I'm not sure she would like me to upload it to Youtube, which is the only way I know to make it work. Trust me - it's a goodie!
I do have plenty of pictures to share though! After speeches, parents were asked to button the rope to their uniform, which Rob is doing.
After that we headed outside for some photos.

After all those pictures, we separated for dinner, and then were back for the football game.
During halftime, all parents were asked to come down to the field and each student and parents' names were announced and shook hands with the administrators.
A very rare photo opportunity down on the field occurred - yay!
It was a great night! And indeed, we are proud of Sienna's accomplishments. Just think, there's more to come!
