BASH 4

April 20th came and went, and Bash 4 is now in the record books.  It was a bigger and better show in several ways: venue, invite list, helpers, added effects, and gear.  If you weren't there, here's what you missed.  If you were there, let's reminisce.

Here is the last practice, Friday night, before the real thing.

The next morning it was time to pack it all up and get to the gig site.  Thanks to help from Bobby, his cousin Ryan, Aaron, and Keith Turner, it was a fairly quick job.

Once at the site, it all had to come off the trailer

and into the pavilion.

With continued help, the stage came together.  Check out the tarp designed by yours truly and daughter!

Here is a landscaped photo of the pavilion.

A pre-show photo of the band - ready to rock!

The show begins with "House is Rockin."

Drummer boy keepin' the beat and lookin' cool.

Rockin' the Tumbleweed.

The awesome lead guitarist and all-around cool guy, Bobby Wheeler.

The lead guitarist and drummer.

The set keeps movin' along.

Rob can sing too!

"Home Sweet Home" featuring Spenser on keyboard and drums!

A neat vantage point of the boys.

All the boys.

Rob singing with help from Julian, the actual lead singer of an awesome band called Tyme Will Tell.

Me dancing with one of our favorite fans, Paul Pershinsky.

Tryin' not to butcher the beautiful Carrie Underwood,

or Kelly Clarkson.

The rare appearance of Sienna, playing keyboard on two Carrie Underwood songs.

Both my kids in a musical event together, aaawww.

One last look at the band.

What cool people came to the event?  Marguerite, Jack, and Justin from my school.

Our friends The Shanahans, along with Mark Gregory, our new/old neighbor.

Doug LaMont and his wife, along with Bob Mickelson, Ana's husband.

Kirk Kiser and his wife Gogie, along with the incomparable Paul.

This is the Vandegriff family and the place where Sienna spent most of her time.  This is where the video camera stood and recorded.

What does the drummer want to do when he's not playing?  Be a boy and make toys out of tools!  Here he is pulling Liam around for fun.

Ethan wants to be like his dad and Spenser, so here he is sneaking up on the stage.

More fun with Liam.  Notice the little Samour Sounds shirts.  They are so cute!

Fun pre-show.

This apparently never gets old.

So there you have it, a sneak peek at Bash 4. Yes all that staging and band gear did get loaded back up on the truck and trailer and hauled home to Bartlett Place.  It even made it into the house with the help of Aaron, Kevin, Spenser, and his friends.

Whew!  It's over and now we can discuss its successes and ponder improvements for the next show.  We LOVED the venue, but it felt like not many people came.  As we went over the attendance, it turned out that actually 98 people came.  I guess it just felt like less because the venue was so big.

Yes, I did say 'next show.'  Rob wants to do another and Spenser and I are on board.  Hopefully we can fit one more in before 2013 draws to a close.

Stay tuned for some videos.
